John W. Bell, Photographer

John Bell was a quiet, shy man living a peaceful existence.  To many, he seemed to be just another tourist carrying a camera, snapping photos at random, as he wandered through the scenery of his world.  His life was simple; a camera bag and boxes upon boxes of pictures neatly tucked away in the privacy of his own home.

Then on a day, not unlike any other day, in walked a dame.  Dorothy was her name.  She had a way about her.  Sure, she'd been called loud, pushy and yes, even a bit overbearing, but John was fascinated by her and soon they were inseparable.  Thus, became the end of John's peaceful existence.

One day, Dorothy happened upon John's collection of photographs and she discovered that behind this charming, yet seemingly clueless man, was a brilliant photographer with depth and vision.  Hour after hour, box after box, photo after photo she viewed his talent with awe.  The captivating scenics, the fascinating abstracts, the colors, the shadows, the moods...

Finally, the boxes were emptied and for what may have been the first time in her life, Dorothy was speechless.  With slides, negatives and photographs piled randomly about her, (devastating John's reign of obsessive organization), she realized these treasures could not be locked away, but must be shared.

John may never have another moment of peace and quiet.

When he has time off from a full schedule of art shows, he can still be found with his camera, although Dorothy is almost always nearby and can usually be heard offering helpful opinions, bouncing off display ideas for that yet uncaptured photograph or just rambling on, and on, and on...

If by chance John ever feels like he's slipping back into a peaceful existence, we need not worry, as I am quite sure that at least one of John and Dorothy's four daughters will liven things up right away.

John still has perfect photographic vision, however, his hearing is almost completely gone.
